ARPACS runs a short-term archive with a configurable storage period and a long-term one on diverse carriers (hard disc, CDR and DVD disks, "Juke Box", tape libraries) providing the user with an opportunity of choice depending on one's needs and possibilities.

The ARPACS system is equipped with an automatic archiving function. The operation of making backup copies of new image examinations is performed automatically by the system, which first completes examinations of 650MB or 4.5GB and then copies them on CDs/DVDs (among the recorded data there are diagnostic images, an examination description and a browser which allows to view images). 

An easier solution is to record by means of a CD/DVD recorder installed on a server. In an extended configuration, the process is performed automatically by robots recording discs and printing a label. Images of examinations, which have been archived on CD/DVD carriers, are automatically deleted by the system.

 

 

 

 

The system automatically notifies its users if the amount of the archive free memory has reached the minimum level.
